The origins of African Sculpture lie long before recorded history with some of the earliest recorded examples dated around 500 BCE.

Today Africa is home to a thriving contemporary art culture and inspiration is drawn from a wide variety of sources including the human and animal kingdoms.

African sculptors work in a wide variety of mediums from indigenous wood and stone and more recently in the use of scrap metals and plastics. Africa leads the way in producing amazing and highly original artwork from a wide variety of recycled materials.
