Our African Seed Pod Shakers are from the African Flame Tree, or Royal Ponciana, Delonix regia. Shaking or tapping the pod causes the seeds inside to move, producing a loud and satisfying rattle!
Although primarily selected for their sound quality, some of our green-fingered customers have successfully grown a flame tree from the seeds within the pod!

As a music teacher, these seed pods are fantastic for African music projects. They have a clear, crisp sound, though this does differ slightly from one pod to the other due to them being a naturally formed product.
